She directed the North American tour of the play 69° South, as well as Ghosts in New York. In addition, she's also directed numerous opera productions, including The Rape of Lucretia, and The Magic Flute.
In 2007 she received the Samuel Beckett Award for writing and directing the play The Terrific Electric.
As well as being a writer and director, Hunter has several acting accolades too.
She has appeared in TV shows Torchwood and Midsomer Murders, as well as the film Traffic Warden.
Her biggest on-screen role, however, was the 2004 movie Vanity Fair, in which she appeared alongside Reese Witherspoon.
