“All morning, Robin was pitching more ideas. He was saying: ‘Can I say this? Would it be appropriate to say this?’”.
This video of Robin Williams and Ben Stiller helping their teenage co-star get a date to the prom has gone viral.
The clip, from May, shows 18-year-old Skyler Gisondo asking his date Hillary to the prom, flanked by his Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb colleagues.
Gisondo plays Stiller's son in the film, which was released in the US last week.
The teenager was still in high school when the film was shot, the Hollywood Reporter reported.
The magazine said his friends were asking girls to the prom at the time, so he decided to see if Williams and Stiller could help him out and create a video.
"All morning, Robin was pitching more ideas. He was saying: 'Can I say this? Would it be appropriate to say this?'," Gisondo told the Hollywood Reporter.
"You're Robin Williams. You can say whatever you want!" he answered.
The teenage actor added: "It turned into this three-minute, ridiculous thing. A prom-posal."
"I realised that was the most awesome three minutes of my life and I've accepted it will go downhill from there."
